Vaccines and health for Umrah from Morocco: what to know

Saudi Arabia requires a meningitis vaccine (meningococcal ACWY) to issue the Umrah visa: it's given at an international vaccination centre in Morocco and recorded on the yellow card. Add a few simple precautions — hydration, heat, crowds — especially for elders. Requirements can change: always confirm the current rule with your agency.
The mandatory vaccine: meningitis (ACWY)
For Umrah as for Hajj, Saudi Arabia requires proof of meningococcal vaccination (quadrivalent ACWY). Without it, the Umrah visa is not issued. It's the only vaccination systematically required for pilgrims coming from Morocco.
- Where: at an international vaccination centre (travellers' vaccination) in Morocco.
- The proof: it's recorded on the international vaccination card (the "yellow card").
- Timing: get it early enough before departure — immunity and validity must cover your travel date. Don't leave it to the last minute.

- Seasonal flu vaccine: often recommended, especially in busy periods.
