Umrah for 8 Days or 15 Days: Which Length to Choose from Morocco?

Yahya Houssini · Published on

A short one-week stay or 15 days between Makkah and Madinah? Pace, profiles and the real October 2026 prices to pick the length that suits you.

Our Umrah departures last 15 days and 14 nights, split between Makkah and Madinah; a short 8-day, 7-night departure is also scheduled during the October 2026 school holidays. The right choice depends on your leave, your pace and your budget: here is how to decide, with the real prices of both formulas.

How many days does an organised Umrah from Morocco last?

The reference formula at Bab Makka, the Umrah and Hajj service of Wiki Tours International, is the 15-day, 14-night stay: a group departure from Mohammed V airport in Casablanca on Saudia, a stay split between Makkah and Madinah, transfers on site and guidance by our team from the airport meeting point to the return. This is the format of our 9 September, 23 September, 6 October and 4 November 2026 departures.

Alongside it, the 17 to 24 October 2026 departure, a school-holiday special, offers an 8-day, 7-night Umrah with the same inclusions: return flight, visa procedure, hotels, transfers and guidance. No 10-day departure is scheduled at the moment. The detailed programme of each departure (hotels and their distance to the Haram, exact inclusions, age conditions) is on its page.

What actually changes between an 8-day and a 15-day Umrah?

The rites of Umrah themselves (ihram, tawaf, sa’i, then shaving or trimming the hair) take up part of the first day; our chapter on the Umrah rituals step by step goes through them. The whole rest of the stay is time: prayers at the Haram, voluntary tawaf, rest, a visit to Madinah and its historic sites, shopping for the family.

Over 15 days, that time is generous: you settle into the rhythm of the Haram without rushing, you recover from the journey, and you live Madinah rather than pass through it. Over 8 days, the programme is compact: every day counts, trips are planned, and you accept seeing less in order to fully live the essential. Neither is better or worse: it is a different way of travelling, suited to different constraints.

8 days or 15 days: which costs less? (real 2026 prices)

Let us compare the two October 2026 departures, per person, in the economy tier:

  • 8-day stay (17 to 24 October): 14,100 MAD double, 13,600 MAD triple, 13,100 MAD quad, 12,500 MAD five-bed.
  • 15-day stay (6 to 20 October): 15,900 MAD double, 14,900 MAD triple, 13,900 MAD quad, 12,300 MAD five-bed.

In a double room the short stay is cheaper; in a five-bed room the 15-day stay wins, at 12,300 MAD against 12,500 MAD. Per day, the long stay is always by far the better value, because part of the price (flight, visa, transfers) does not depend on the number of nights.

The same logic holds in the higher tiers: in a VIP double, 20,900 MAD for 8 days against 26,300 MAD for 15 days. The full detail, departure by departure and tier by tier, is in our review of 2026 Umrah prices by tier and month.

Who is a short 8-day Umrah for?

  • Employees and civil servants who cannot be away for two weeks.
  • Families with school-age children: the 17 to 24 October 2026 departure is timed to the school holidays, with no missed classes. Our groups welcome families, triple, quad and five-bed rooms lower the price per person, and every child must hold their own passport.
  • Those discovering Umrah who prefer a short first stay before coming back for longer.
  • Those who want to leave now rather than wait until they have fifteen free days.

Our article on Umrah during the school holidays details how a one-week family departure is organised.

Who is a 15-day Umrah for?

  • Retirees and elderly parents, for whom a slow pace is a condition, not a luxury.
  • Those who want time in Madinah, not only in Makkah.
  • Pilgrims looking for the best price per day spent there.
  • First-time pilgrims who want to soak it all in without watching the clock.

Four 15-day departures are open between September and November 2026; the two October departures, long and short, are compared on the Umrah in October page.

How do you choose in practice?

  1. Count your real days of leave, weekends included, and keep one day to recover after the return.
  2. Look at who is travelling with you: school-age children or elderly parents tip the balance in opposite directions.
  3. Set a budget per person and choose the room type accordingly; with family or friends, the shared room changes everything.
  4. Choose the month, then the departure: each page shows the dates, the airline, the hotels with their distance to the Haram and the exact inclusions.
  5. Send your request on the site or on WhatsApp, with no online payment: an adviser calls you back, then the booking is confirmed with a contract signed at the Casablanca agency, with a deposit paid at the agency and an official receipt.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a 10-day Umrah?

Not at the moment. Our current departures last 15 days and 14 nights, and an 8-day, 7-night departure is scheduled from 17 to 24 October 2026. If an intermediate length interests you, send your request stating your period: registered people are contacted first as soon as a matching departure opens.

Can you perform Umrah in one week without rushing?

Yes. The rites of Umrah are usually performed on arrival, within part of a day; the following days are given to prayers at the Haram and to the group programme. Over 8 days you accept a more compact stay, with less free time and fewer visits than over fifteen days. The programme is shown on the departure page.

Does the length of stay change the visa or the documents?

No. On both formulas, the Umrah visa procedure and fees are included and handled by our team through the official channels. You provide a passport valid at least six months after the return date and recent identity photos; the full list of documents is given to you at confirmation, by phone or WhatsApp.
